A farmer has been electrocuted to death by a stray electric wire in a paddy field at the northern district of Lalmonirhat.
The incident was reported from the district’s Aditmari Upazila on Friday (Sept 13) evening, said police. The deceased has been identified as 47-year-old Ukil Chandra.
According to the victim’s family and police, that one Enamul Haque illegally provides electric connection from his house to another through Ukil Chandra’s field.
He was electrocuted by a wire when he went to his field in the evening and was rushed to Lalmonirhat Sadar Hospital in a critical condition where he died at night.
Aditmari police Inspector Saiful Islam said that legal matters will be initiated if the victim’s family lodges a complaint.
