BGB seizes 50m contraband tablets from Dinajpur borderA consignment of contraband veterinary drugs has been seized from the border at Dinajpur’s Hili.
Borders Guards Bangladesh (BGB) said the estimated market value of the drugs used for cattle fattening is around Tk 50 million
However, no arrests have been made over the haul, said Subedar Nasir Uddin, in-charge of Gashuria BOP.
Acting on a tip-off of smuggling illegal tablets, the BGB conducted a raided at Nayangarh area.
“Sensing our presence, the group of the smugglers fled leaving the sack containing the tablets,” said Nasir Uddin.
The veterinary tablets were imported keeping the Eid-ul Adha in sight, added the BGB member.
