The incident was reported from the court of Feni Women and Children Repression Prevention Judge Mamnur Rashid on Wednesday (Jul 10).
According to witnesses, Shirin Akhter was rushed to Feni Heart Foundation Hospital by her son Mahmudul Hasan Noman and the court police immediately after she fainted.
“The doctors said that she is doing a little better since she was given primary treatment,” said Superintendant of Feni police Khandaker Nurunnabi.
Nusrat’s mother started testifying at 11 am and it ended at 2:30. She reportedly broke down in tears and lost her temper a number of times during cross-examination.
So far two 13 people have testified in the case with two more witnesses to scheduled to testify on Thursday (Jul 10).
The mother of Feni madrasa student Nusrat Jahan Rafi, who was killed after being set on fire,  reportedly lost consciousness while leaving the court after testifying.On May 29, the Police Bureau of Investigation pressed charges against 16 people over the murder.
The trial officially took off on Jun 10 and the court indicted the 16 accused on Jun 20.
Nusrat, who was an Alim examinee, suffered 80% burns when she was set on fire on Apr 6 on the roof of Sonagazi Islamia Senior Fazil Madrasa, for refusing to withdraw sexual assault charges against now suspended madrasa principal Siraj-ud-Daula.
After she was set on fire, her family filed another case against eight people, including Siraj, on Apr 8.
The 18-year-old girl died at Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) on Apr 10, after battling with burn injuries for five days.
