3 dead in Chattogram bus accidentThree people have been killed and five others injured when a bus went off from the road and fell into a ditch on the Chattogram-Rangamati road, fire service sources said.
The incident took place at Forest Station area in Raozan Upazila on Friday afternoon.
Identities of the deceased were not available.
Bayezid Bostami Fire Service Station Officer Enamul Haque said, “A passenger bus, coming from hill tracts district of Rangamati, fell into a road side ditch in Raozan municipality’s Forest Area.”
Six units from three nearby fire service stations rushed to the spot and launched a rescue operation, when three bodies were pulled out from the bus.
Five people have been taken to hospitals in Chattogram Medical College Hospital from the scene.
Haque said, “Our divers are continuing rescue operations and we fear that the number of causalities might increase.”
Raojan police station officer-in-charge Kefayet Ullah told Bangla Tribune, “Out of the three deceased, two are children and the older one might be bus driver or helper.”
