Nusrat murder: Indictment hearing on Jun 20

Police vanA court in Feni has fixed Jun 20 for indictment hearing in the Feni madrasa student Nusrat Jahan Rafi murder cases.

Judge Mamunur Rashid of Women and Children Repression Prevention Tribunal passed the order after accepting the charge sheet in the case on Monday (Jun 10).

The charge will framed on Jun 20, said prosecutor Advocate Shahjahan Saju.

Around 11am, the 16 accused in the case were produced before the court. Later, they were presented before the tribunal.

The 16 accused are madrasa principal SM Siraj-ud-Daula, 57, Nur Uddin, 20, Shahadat Hossain Shamim, 20, Maksud Alam alias Moksud Alam Councilor, 45, Saifur Rahman Mohammad Zobaer, 21, Jabed Hossain alias Shakhaoat Hossain Jabed, 19, Hafez Abdul Quader, 25, Absar Uddin, 33, Kamrun Nahar Moni, 19, Umme Sultana who has other aliases Popy, Tuhin, Shampa and Champa, 19, Abdur Rahim Sharif, 20, Iftekhar Uddin Rana, 22, Imran Hossain alias Mamun, 22, Mohammad Shamim, 20, Ruhul Amin, 55, Mohiuddin Shakil 20. 

At the time, Special Superintendent of Police Iqbal of Police Bureau of Investigation (PBI) in Chattogram along with other officers were present at the court.

On May 30, Feni Senior Judicial Magistrate Zakir Hossain presented the case documents to the court.

Nusrat Jahan Rafi, a student at Sonagazi Islamia Fazil Madrasa, was set on fire on Apr 6 after she filed a case of sexual harassment against the principal. She died of her burns on Apr 10.
