Following Saudi Arabia, people of 40 villages in Chandpur are observing Eid today (Friday).
The first Eid congregation was held at Sadra Darbar Sharif in Hajiganj at 9:30am when hundreds of worshippers attended it. More congregations were held later in other villages.
The followers of Sadra Darbar Sharif have been maintaining the tradition of having Eid in line with Saudi Arabia for the last 88 years.
Meanwhile, some villages in Noakhali, Lakhsmipur, Bhola and Shariatpur are also observing Eid today.
