A retired military official has been hacked to death at Narail Sadar Upazila on Thursday (Apr 25).
The victim has been identified as 45-year-old Dablu Sheikh, said Sadar police OC Ilias Hossain.
According to the police and locals, Dablu who retired in 2012, was attacked by a group of assailants when he was sitting at a local store and watching TV.
They said that the attackers stabbed him on his hand, shoulders and chest until he was died.
OC Ilias said that the murder was motivated by a local clash over influence in the territory.
He added that police have been deployed in the area and a case will be started over the murder.
