A suspected drug trader was killed in a reported gunfight with police in Rangpur early Tuesday amid a countrywide crackdown on narcotics and its dealers.
Officer-in-charge of Kaunia police station Abdul Aziz said they went to Haragas area of the district following a tip-off that a group of drug dealers gathered there.
Sensing police presence, the drug traders started firing at them and the law enforcing agencies retaliated and Rabiul, accused in 10 drug related cases, was killed in the shootout, Abdul Aziz said.
The OC said they recovered large quantity of drugs from the scene.
