Police have recovered blood-soaked dead body of a Chandpur college principal Shaheen Sultana Fency.
The incident took place at the late hour of Monday at her resident in Pacca Masjid area in the town.
The preliminary investigation indicated that she was hacked to death, said police sources.
Chandpur Additional Police Super Md Mizanur Rahman said, “We examined the crime spot and looking into it.”
Fency was the principal of Gallat Degree College in Faridganj Upazila in Chandpur district and member of the central Awami Women League. She was the wife of district Awami League Joint Secretary Jahirul Islam.
Brother of the deceased and headmaster of Sholoshohor Adarsha High School Abu Naim alleged that Jahirul killed his wife as they had a disturbed conjugal life over his second marriage.
Echoing the same view, Forkan, her another brother, said, this is a pre-planned murder.
He said, “Jahirul informed us about 11 at night and we found the blood-soaked body lying on the floor.”
However, Jahirul said, “I was not at home. When I came back I found the front door open and saw her body lying on the floor. People flocked to my house as I started shouting.”
Relatives of the family said, they had a married life of over 20 years. Out of their three daughters, two stay abroad and one is studying in Cumilla Medical College.
