Police have arrested two people in a case filed over raping an 11-year-old madrasa girl in Rampal upazila in Bagerhat.
Oliur Rahman, principal of Shorafpur Keramotia Fazil Madrasa and the rape suspect Ferdous Sheikh, 19, were detained from the upazila’s Foyla area on Friday (Apr 19).
Rampal police OC Lutfar Rahman said, “Following the incident, the girl's uncle filed a case against four- Ferdous, the principal, his wife, and the hostel superintendent on Friday afternoon.”
The girl was sent to Bagerhat Sadar Hospital on Saturday for medical tests, news agency UNB quoted the OC.
According to the case statement, a second-grader madrasa student from Naogaon district was a resident at the dormitory of Shorafpur Keramotia Fazil Madrasa. On the night of Apr 11, the prime accused Ferdous entered the madrasa and raped the child.
Afterwards, the principal, his wife, and the madrasa hostel superintendent tried to conceal the rape incident.
