Three members of United People's Democratic Front (UPDF) were killed in Rangamati on Monday.
The incident took place at Korolyachhari under Baghaichhari Upazila in the early morning, said, superintendent of police Alamgir Kabir.
The victims were identified as Sanjit Chakma, Atol Chakma and Smrity Chakma.
Baghaichhari UPDF leader Jewel Chakma in a statement blamed JSS (MN Larma) faction and UPDF (democratic) for the killings.
UPDF Publicity Division chief Niran Chakma said that our three activists were shot dead by the goons of Jana JSS (MN Larma) and Ganatantrik UPDF terrorists.
However, UPDF (Democratic) spokesman Liton Chakma denied the allegation saying they were not involved in the incident.
“We came to know some unidentified persons killed the trio in a house during the dawn. Police and army inspected the scene”, said OC Nurul Anwar of Sazek police station.
Details of the killings could be revealed after conducting an investigation, said the police.
