A helpless mother wants to commit suicide by taking poison as her grown-up son beat up and tortured the lady.
Aleya Begum, wife of Ukil Uddin Tarafdar, of Chitolmari in Bagerhat went to the police station Saturday to file a complaint against her son.
“I worked as house-maid to bring up my son. Now that son beat me, don’t give me food and every now and then throw me out from my home. I don’t want to live, please give me poison,” widow Aleya Begum was wailing outside the police station.
The officer-in-charge of Chitolmari police station said, “We got a written complaint from Aleay Begum. We instructed the investigation officer to look into it with due importance.”
Aleya begum said she started working as house-maid after her husband died about nine years ago to bring up her son, Sujon, also a gambler.
“Still now, with my ill-condition I work to earn some money and whatever amount I get, I give it to my son.”
Aleya Begum could not bear it on Saturday when Sujon beat up his mother as he was demanding money.
“I have become impatient. I came to the police station as I am helpless,” she said.
