A sexagenarian woman has been killed in a fire in Noakhali.

The fire erupted around 10pm on Wednesday (Jan 16) at a house in Alipur village at Kabirhat Upazila’s Ghoshbagh Union, witnesses say.

The victim has been identified as 60-year-old Nasima Khatun.

Everyone left out from the house after they noticed fire accept the victim who was suffering illness.

“Electric short circuit may cause the fire,” said Kabirhat police Sub-Inspector Abdul Wadud, before adding, “Later, a gas cylinder, kept in the house, triggered the fire.”
