A soil-laden trawler at Munshiganj reportedly capsized into River Meghna with 22 workers.
The river police have been scouring the river since Tuesday morning but are yet to discover any sign of the trawler.
“I didn’t receive any news of trawler capsizing at Gazaria’s Meghna,” said Gazaria UNO Hassan Sadi.
Meanwhile, Gazaria police OC Harun-ur-Rashid said, “It might just be a rumour” adding that the river police have not found anything yet.
“Pabna’s Bhangura police OC informed that a trawler has gone missing with 22 workers,” said Gazaria River police post incharge Mizanur Rahman.
He added that the coast guard had also gone down in the afternoon, but saw no sign of the trawler.
