The government is well prepared to ensure all necessary assistance to to people in times of natural disaster, said Disaster Management and Relief Minister Dr Md Enamur Rahman.

His comments came on Wednesday (Jan 16) while distributing winter clothes to the poor in Panchagarh.

Terming the current government as people-friendly, he said that it stands ready to tackle natural disasters and ensure all assistance people may need in times of such calamities.

Calling on the government officials to help continue the development trend of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, he said, “I will request the prime minister to establish a economic zone in Panchagarh.”

An economic zone will open up job opportunities for at least 30 to 40 thousand people, he said.
