Five people have been killed and four others injured in a road accident on Dhaka-Sylhet Highway in Brahmanbaria.
The accident was reported from Birpasha area of the district’s Bijoynagar Upazila at around 2pm on Tuesday (Jan 15), police said.
Highway police sergeant Hossain Sarkar told Bangla Tribune, “A Sylhet-bound microbus coming from Dhaka veered into a roadside ditch as its driver lost control over the steering killing five of its passengers on the spot and injuring four others.”
Details of the deceased were not available.
The injured were admitted to the local hospital, said Sarkar.
