Two suspects in the Noakhali’s Subarnachar rape incident have given confessional statements before a court.

“Cognisence Court-2 Judge Nobonita Guha recorded the confessional statements of Salahuddin and Abul under section 164 on Monday (Jan 7),” said Detective Branch police OC Md Abul Khayer.

Police have so far arrested eight people in the case filed by the victim’s husband.

The woman was gang-raped in Subarnachar area on Dec 30 by a dozen local AL activists for allegedly voting for paddy sheaf, according to the victim’s family.

The victim said the men tied her husband and four children with ropes, after which they took the woman outside the house and gang-raped her.

Victims husband said that the men involved in the brutal act were about to murder his wife when she recognised them but left her on the yard after she pleaded for her life.

On Dec 31 the victim’s husband filed a case against nine people.
