The assessment of nomination letters for three seats in Gopalganj has been completed.
After evaluation, the nomination of SM Jilani, BNP candidate for Gopalganj-3 and two others were cancelled.
The candidacy of 16 persons, including that of Awami League president Sheikh Hasina was deemed legal.
The evaluation was done at the district administrator’s conference room on Sunday (Dec 2).
The nomination paper of independent candidate, Shasul Alam Kham for Gopalganj-1 was cancelled as submitted voters’ signatures had discrepancies.
All five nominations for Gopalganj-2 were deemed legal while for Gopalganj-3, nomination papers for BNP and Jatiya Party candidates, SM Jilani and AZM Opu were revoked.
