A head-on collision between a truck and a motorcycle has left a couple dead in Shariatpur.
The incident was reported around 10am on Friday from the district’s Sadar upazila, said police.
The deceased are Mithun Mondol, 30 and Nandini Rani, 22.
“The two vehicles were crashed into each other on Shariatpur-Madaripur highway in upazila’s Kashipur area. A witness took the victims to local state run hospital where the doctor pronounced them dead,” said Palong police OC Md Moniruzzaman.
“The driver and his associate managed to flee from the scene, however, the truck has been seized from the spot,” he added.
The bodies have been kept at the hospital for autopsy.
