A new passenger train service on Chattogram-Dohajari rail route has launched.
Railways Minister Mujibul Haque inaugurated the services at Patia rail station of Chattogram on Saturday (Nov 3).
Speaking at the programme, Haque said, “All divisional and district towns would be brought under rail network if the Awami League comes to power again.
“Bullet train, subway, and electric trains would be introduced in all divisional and district towns if the Awami League comes to power again,” he added.
The minister vowed to introduce the first bullet train on Dhaka-Chattogram route.
Blaming the BNP-Jamat government for destroying railway sector, Haque said, “The AL government imported 46 upgraded rail engines and around 200 modern rail coaches.”
“Now the railway sector has become a profitable mode of transport,” he said.
