Police in Feni has released 101 out of 109 youths who were taken into custody after gathering near the district town’s Shaheed Shahidullah Kaiser road.
The 101 detainees were released on Thursday (Oct 11) with their guardian’s bond after being in custody for a long 32 hours.
The rest of the eight detainees are to remain in custody as police suspect them to be connected to a sabotage act.
“Police didn’t find anything against the 101 detainees,” said Feni police OC Abul Kalam.
The youngsters were taken into custody on Wednesday (Oct 10) for being present at a gathering but they claimed that they had actually congregated near a building on the mentioned road to take training for salesmen by a company called TNC.
Sohel Rana, a sales representative of TNC, told Bangla Tribune that the arrestees had gone to take part in a celebration programme of the company following seven days of training and the Feni police arrested them after being instigated by someone.
