Road accidents kill six across the country

Bagerhat road crash on Sept 22, 2018.Road accidents across Bangladesh have killed six people including a child between late Friday (Sept 21) and early Saturday (Sept 22).
The incidents were reported in between Friday (Sept 21) night to Saturday (Sept 22) morning.
A 4-year-old child girl was killed on the Dhaka-Chattogram Highway after she and her mother Rupali Begum were hit by a truck on Friday. Severely injured Rupali has been sent to Chattogram Medical College Hospital.
Highway Police Inspector Ahsan Habib said that the incident was reported from Chattogram’s Kadamrasul area.
The truck was confiscated while the driver and helper managed to flee, he added.
In Manikganj, a minibus ran over a motorbike killing its rider on the Dhaka-Aricha Highway. The bus flipped over and fell into a road side ditch following the crash leaving 38 of its passenger injured.
The identity of the dead victim wasn’t available while the injured minibus passengers were all garments workers, who were later sent to a Manikganj Hospital.
The incident was reported around 7:30am on Saturday, Golra Highway police OC Habibur Rahman said.
Two garments worker were killed in Savar and Dhamrai while crossing the road on Saturday morning.
The victims have been identified as Belayet Hossain, 35, and Shahin Hossain, 32.
Savar model police OC Abdul Awal said that the separate accidents were reported from Ulail and Islampur Bus stand on the Dhaka-Aricha Highway.
In Bagerhat, a head-on collision between two buses on the Khulna-Mawa Highway left one dead and 15 others injures.
Katakhali Highway Police OC Md Jamal Sheikh said that the incident was reported around 9:00am Saturday.
The victims have been identified as Shahadat Hossain, 25, a helper of the Greenline Paribahan bus which collided with one operated by Didar paribahan.
Three among those injured were in critical conditions, added the highway police officer.
A 21-year-old youth Faisal Mahmud Supto was killed following a collision between his bike and a truck in Jamalpur.
His fellow classmate Sizan Mahmud, 21, was severely injured in the incident reported from the city’s Jamalpur-Dewanganj area on Friday night (11pm).
Jamalpur Sadar Police OC Md Nasimul Islam said the they have confiscated the truck but its driver and helper fled the scene.
