Bangladesh-AustriaSeveral Bangladeshi and Austrian companies are going to sign three memoranda of understanding to expand economic relations between the two countries.
The deals will be signed in Dhaka on Wednesday after talks between Foreign Minister AK Abdul Momen and his Austrian counterpart Karin Kneissl.
Kneissl is scheduled to arrive Wednesday morning while a team of Austrian investor had meetings with Bangladeshi businesses.
“Both the countries are interested to enhance economic opportunity and the governments will play a facilitating role,” said a foreign ministry official.
The talks between the two foreign ministers will focus economic diplomacy but issues like the Rohingya crisis, agriculture and technology transfer will be also discussed, he added.
In a first visit of an Austrian foreign minister, Kneissl will also pay her respects at the Central Shaheed Minar at the first hour of Feb 21, he added.
In 2016, the then- foreign minister AH Mahmood Ali visited Austria.
