Bank branches near apparel factories will remain open on Saturday (Aug 18) to facilitate clearing wages and allowances of workers ahead of the Eid-ul-Azha.
On Tuesday, Bangladesh Bank sent a directive on the matter to the commercial banks.
It instructed to keep open branches near factories in the Dhaka city, Ashulia, Tongi, Gazipur, Savar, Narayanganj and city Chattogram.
The labour ministry last week told apparel factory owners to clear salaries and festival allowances of workers by Aug 16.
