Deshimade‘Laxmi’(goddess of wealth) lives in business but he is a worshiper of ‘Saraswati’(goddess of knowledge). So there was no such thought to start a business. But all his predecessors are businessmen. In that British period, his grandfather went to Assam from a remote village of Sirajganj for business. Father is the passenger of the same path but I did not wander the path anyway. Passed from the local school and college, he got admitted to the University of Dhaka. From there, he completed BBA and MBA. While he was in school, the thoughts of writings entered his mind. He could not exit from that thought. ‘One day, while writing, a question came to my mind- ‘Why I am not writing about my own community? Father-uncles, relatives, everyone is a businessman of clothes. Hearing the sound of the loom, I grew up. So one day I started writing about loom. A Blog opened in WordPress named ‘Lungiwala’. Alongside the job, a little bit of writing in that blog.

Suddenly an idea came to my mind. Well, if I can bring my father's business online! It is not easy to choose the path that ends with ‘Laxmi’ from the path of ‘Saraswati’. One day the page was started on Facebook. The aim is to bring the loom products made by the community to the busy citizens of the city. We have decided to name the page ‘Deshimade’.

That's how Deshimade is started. That was the event of March 2016. The aim was to sell country made products by this page. By this time the page got very familiarity. The fan number of pages exceeded 16 thousand already. The order also comes from buyers. Originally ‘Saris’, ‘Lungi’ and ‘Towel’ made in Sirajganj is available here. Mr. Rezaul Karim, the owner of ‘Deshimade’, said, we will keep the other products of the country made in future.

Deshimade (2)Radharaman Saha, author of book ‘History of Pabna’, presented a statistic about the weavers of the district of 100 years ago. There was information about the number of looms in the area of the district. There was some information about the production of loom products. These information show how well the situation of tradition in the weavers was. He wanted to bring this tradition to the people of the country through Deshimade.
‘Lungi’ on online for sale! It is a surprise! Firstly, Mr. Rezaul Karim heard the words from Facebook users. But many people have encouraged. Now people are buying out of interest. Regarding the launch of Deshimade, Mr. Rezaul Karim told the Bangla Tribune that since childhood we are involved in the production of saris and lungi. We saw that in the big shopping mall, saris, lungi, and towel of Sirajganj were sold at twice the price. So we can start selling this online so that customers can buy Sirajganj’s handloom products at affordable prices. Moreover, the weaving industry is getting worse now. By selling online, we are trying to keep it alive.
Deshimade is an online retailing shop, but business is not only the aim of it. Today there is a situation of the recession in the weaving industry. Looms are being off. The weavers are going to another profession from the paternal profession. The sound of the loom is disappearing from the area. That's why he wants to live the loom industry again. He wrote about his identity in his blog ‘Lungiwala’, 'My birth was in the afternoon. Azan was announced when it is a boy. So, Azan announced after my birth. But before the sound of Azan, the sound of looming came into my ears. I'm the son of the weaver’s! By selling the clothes of the weavers, we get the money for rice, clothes and school expenses. Today, we are trying to repay the debt by writing about the weavers' and by writing the lifespan of weavers on the internet; he has opened the path to the world.
