Bangladesh women`s cricket teamBangladesh women’s cricket team bagged gold in the 13th South Asian Games, beating Sri Lanka in an action-packed final by 2 runs at Pokhara.

On Sunday (Dec 8), the tigresses struggled with the bat and managed only 91 for 8 at the final.

Nigar Sultana was the highest scorer with a not out knock of  29.

Sri Lanka's Umesha Thimashini grabbed four wickets for eight runs.

In reply, Sri Lankan's lost early wickets in the chase. But Lankan skipper Madavi steadied the ship with her 32 run- innings.

In the lower order, Lahini Apsara scored 25 valuable runs for the islanders.

In the last over, Sri Lanka needed seven runs to win the game. But Jahanara Alam defended Bangladesh's score with the ball.

She gave away only 5 runs and took a wicket.

Sri Lanka's chase ended at 89/9.
