Bangladesh women beat India by 7 wicketsBangladesh national women’s team on Wednesday clinched their consecutive second victory in the ongoing ACC Women’s Twenty20 Asia Cup, beating a strong India by seven wickets in their third match at Kinrara Oval in Malaysia, paving their way to the final of the tournament.
At present, India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh, all have four points. Bangladesh’s last two matches are against two comparatively weaker sides: Malaysia and Thailand.
Among the Bangladeshi players, Rumana Ahmed put up an all-round display taking 3 wickets for 21 in four overs and scoring an unbeaten 42 in 34 balls.
Farzana Huq clinched her first T20 half century, scoring an unbeaten 52 off 46 balls. She hit five fours and a six in her innings.
Batting first, India set a target of 142. Bangladesh reached the target with the help of a long-term partnership of Farzana Huq and Rumana Ahmed, keeping two balls at hand.
From the very beginning, Salma and Co. adopted an attacking mode. In the opening partnership, Shamima Sultana and Ayesh Rahman scored 29.
After Ayesha’s fall, Farzana and Shamima added some more runs to the score sheet. Shamima returned to the pavilion after playing a cyclone innings of 33 from 23. Indian bowlers Puja, Rajeshwari and Poonam each took one wicket.
Earlier, India batting first, scored 141 runs losing seven wickets.
