Sakib Al HasanShakib Al Hasan wants a break from test cricket. That’s why he asked for a six-month break but the BCB has granted him a shorter one. Akram Khan, the BCB's cricket operations chairman said he will be allowed rest during Bangladesh's tour of South Africa that will begin later in this month. And “if he wants”, he has the option of playing the second Test.
Shakib is one of the busiest players in the Bangladesh Cricket Team. As he has to play in all the formats he is feeling tired now. After taking rest he wants to come back in the longer version with new zeal.
While talking in a press conference about his taking break, he said, “If you are not mentally healthy then it will be tough to play properly. In the longer version, I have to perform with ball and bat in all the four innings. So if I cannot do it properly then there is no point in playing.” According to him, it will help him to prolong his international career.
This will be the first time that a Bangladeshi cricket player will voluntarily miss a Test.
