A maiden century by opener Liton Das helped Bangladesh set a target of 223 runs in their clash against India in the Asia Cup final in Dubai on Friday.
Bangladesh scored 222 all out in 48.3 overs.
Openers Liton and Mehidy Hasan Miraz gave the Tigers a flying start, building a 120-run partnership.
India’s Kedar Jadhav broke the stand as Mehidy was caught by Ambati Rayudu.
Bangladesh were 120 for one in 20.5 overs. Mehidy scored 32 off 59 balls.
Tigers lost four wickets from 23 over to 32 overs while Liton continued to hold the helm.
Chahal trapped lbw Imrul Kayes (2 off 12 balls). Jadhav strike again. He took Mushfiqur Rahim (5 off 9 balls) out. Bangladesh were 137 for three losses in 26.5 overs.
Mohammad Mithun (2 off 4) followed the suit as he was rut out in the next over. Mahmudullah failed too. He was caught by Jasprit Bumrah. Kuldeep Yadav took the wickets.
Liton hit a century building another partnership of 37 runs with Soumya Sarkar.
Liton scored 121 off 117 balls with 12 fours and two sixes before he was stumped out by MS Dhoni. Kuldeep bagged the wicket.
Soumya Sarkar contributed a late 33 off 45 balls before he was run out.
Captain Masrafee Mortaza and Nazmul Hossain scored 7 runs each, Rubel got a duck while Mustafizur Rahman was 2 not out, lifting Tigers to 222 all out in 48.3 over.
India’s Kuldeep Yadav took maximum three wickets and Kedar Jadhav bagged two wickets.
