Awami League (AL) Joint General Secretary Mahbubul Alam Hanif said the party’s activists and leaders will be on the streets to resist the shutdown, called by Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) on Sunday (Feb 2).
The senior ruling party leader came up with the warning less than an hour after the BNP called for a dawn-to-dusk shutdown in Dhaka city from Sunday morning after rejecting the results of the elections to the Dhaka city corporations on Saturday (Feb 1) night.
Earlier, BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir, at a media briefing, made the announcement of the dawn-to-dusk shutdown across the city.
