Awami League’s Dhaka South mayoral candidate Sheikh Fazle Noor Taposh campaigning at the capital’s Mugda on Thursday (Jan 23)Awami League’s Dhaka South mayoral candidate Sheikh Fazle Noor Taposh says that the BNP has failed to come up with an outline for the megacity residents ahead the upcoming city polls.
“They [BNP] have just taken the election as a strategy of its political activities. They have admitted it too,” he said on Thursday (Jan 23) while campaigning at the capital’s Mugda.
“They [BNP] are out to make the polls questionable while we are electioneering. We are going to the citizens with our pledges,” said Taposh, who stepped down as the Dhaka-10 MP to contest the race.
“As many as 18 more wards have been included into Dhaka South City Corporation. We want to provide the wards with all services and amenities of a modern city,” he said.
“We will draw a long-term plan for 30 years to transform the newly added wards into modern ones,” Taposh said.
“We hope that Dhaka residents will vote in favour of boat [his polls symbol], as we pledge to come up with an outline to change Dhaka,” he said.
