Awami League’s Advisory Council member Amir Hossain Amu has said people who don’t celebrate Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman’s birth centenary, belong to anti-liberation elements
“We should politically resist them, who distort the history of Liberation War and don’t believe in Bangladesh,” he said on Wednesday (Jan 15).
Ruling AL-led 14-party Alliance organised the programme at the AL’s central office on Dhaka’s Bangabandhu Avenue to exchange views with the leaders of different professional bodies on the occasion of ‘Mujib Year’.
Amu said, “India’s Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) had chalked out elaborate programmes to mark the birth centenary of their Father of the Nation Mahatma Gandhi without thinking twice.
“However, BNP and Jamaat-e-Islami have organized no programme to celebrate the birth centenary of our Father of the Nation,” he added.
Alliance spokesperson Mohammad Nasim said, “Pro-liberation force can’t be defeated in the Mujib Year… Bangabandhu will be remembered by the Bangali nation for thousands years.”
Nasim, who is a presidium member of AL, unveiled the alliance progammes on the occasion of Mujib Year.’
