Ruling Awami League will announce its new 81-member central working committee on Thursday (Dec 26), says General Secretary Obaidul Quader.
The development came after a meeting of the AL presidium members at Prime Minister and party chief Sheikh Hasina's official residence at Ganbhaban in Dhaka on Tuesday (Dec 24).
Quader, who has been re-elected as the party’s general secretary recently, briefed the media after the meeting.
On Dec 21, Hasina was re-elected as AL president and Quader as general secretary in the party's 21st national council held in Dhaka.
This is Hasina's ninth consecutive term since she was first elected party chief in 1981 while it is a second term for Quader.
On the day, the party announced as many 42 names for its 81-memebr central committee.
On the next, AL Office Secretary Biplab Barua in a statement said that vacant 39 posts of AL's central working committee would be filled up after the first presidium meeting of AL presided by the party chief Hasina.
