Juktafront not for taking any party to power: MannaNagarik Oikya Chairman Mahmudur Rahman Manna has said their coalition is not for taking any specific party to power.
“Our national unity is not for replacing someone who is in power… Not for taking someone to power either. We have been united to protect the country from the evildoers’ hands” Manna said on Saturday (Jul 28).
Manna’s Nagorik Oikya is one the allies in the Juktofront” [United Front], led by Bikalkpadhara Bangladesh chief AQM Badruddoza Chowdhury.
Speaking at a programme in the city, Manna said, “Characters of them (Awami League and BNP) are same, but the difference is the degree of the (wrong) activities. One carries out more while another does less.”
Citing a wish to form a greater coalition, the senior politician said, “The country won’t be changed unless these wrongdoers are punished.”
Blaming ruling AL lawmaker for amassing wealth, Manna said, “Their properties have increased by five to ten-folds comparing to their pre-polls amount.”
“Where this wealth comes from, everything has been looted. So, change is must in future,” he said.
