No foreign guest is invited to upcoming Awami League’s (AL) 21st National Council, says AL Presidium member Mohammad Nasim.
The ruling party, however, will invite a number of foreign dignitaries on the celebration of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman's birth centenary in 2020, he said on Saturday (Nov 2).
Nasim, who is also the convener of the AL council’s reception committee, was speaking at a media call at the AL central office on Bangabandhu Avenue in Dhaka.
Nasim said the diplomats from different missions in Dhaka, however, would attend the council.
The 21st National Council of AL is scheduled to be held on Dec 20-21 while the centenary of Bangabandhu’s birth will be celebrated throughout the year starting from Mar 17, 2020.
