Nagorik Oikyo wants to a form a balanced alliance to contest Awami League in the upcoming general election.
“This is our campaign. We want to form separate or unified alliance,” said Nagorik Oikyo Convener Mahmudur Rahman Manna.
He was speaking with the media at his Gulshan residence Friday.
“We don’t want to form alliance with Jamaat or BNP. Our election campaign is ‘stop supporting Awami League to save the country’”, he said.
About Jamaat, he said, “The party cannot take part in the election as it does not have registration. It may get 10 seats from BNP or maybe from Awami League as a good number of outsiders intrude into the AL.”
Joint Secretary General of Bikalpadhara, a member of the Juktofront alliance, Mahi B Chowdhury said, “News published in different newspapers that we negotiated to have 150 seats from BNP. This is not true. We want to have a balanced alliance and that’s it.”
