Government wants to keep Khaleda Zia in prison until it reaches its desired political objectives, alleged the BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir.
“Government is filing cases one after another to delay her release. Conspiracies being hatched to oust Khaleda from politics”, he said.
The senior BNP leader said this during a human chain held demanding BNP chairperson’s immediate release in front of the National Press Club in the capital on Wednesday.
He also claimed that Khaleda Zia has been deprived of the lawful facilities in the prison.
Talking on the upcoming national election, he added, “Government, by any means, trying to consolidate its power through holding a one-party election like 2014.”
