Mohammad Nasim The ruling Awami League-led 14-party Alliance has urged the government committee to review quotas in public service reform to file its report a soon as possible.
“It takes time to bring change to a long-existing system. Still, the 14-party Alliance calls the committee, led by the cabinet secretary, to finish its job quickly and submit the report. So no one can fish in troubled water.” Coalition spokesperson Mohammad Nasim said on Tuesday ((Jul 17).
The senior Awami League leader made the call following a meeting of the coalition at the party chief’s Dhanmondi offices.
Blaming a vested quarter for plotting conspiracies, Nasim said, “Now, they took to the street with the quota reform issue.”
The AL Presidium member, however, did not see who belonged to the ‘vested quarter’.
On BNP’s claim on rigging the upcoming polls, Nasim said, “The election will be held as announced by Election Commission in line with the Constitution.”
“We hope all political parties will participate in the polls and the BNP too … The election in every democratic country is held under the elected government so as it will be in Bangladesh under the leadership of Sheikh Hasina,” Nasim said.
