The ruling party will also hold its next national council on Dec 20-21, said Quader, who is also the road transport minister.
Rezwanul Haque Chowdhury Shovon and Golam RabbaniChange to the BCL leadership came within a week since AL chief Hasina ordered the dissolution of the student affiliate's central committee on Saturday (Sept 7) amid a series of controversial acts by Shovon and Rabbani and allegations of inefficiency.
At an AL meeting on Saturday chaired by Hasina, indignation was also expressed over BCL's failure to give a committee at Jagannath University and Eden College, accusations of unethical monetary transactions over the formation of the committee at Kushtia Islami University and giving posts to married plus BNP-Jamaat candidates, according to sources.
The top AL leaders also talked about Shovon being married along with allegations of moral lapse against him as well as Rabbani.
On Jul 31, 2018, as per the instruction of AL chief Hasina, Shovon and Rabbani were made BCL's president and general secretary respectively two months after the student body's national council ended with selecting no new leadership on mid-May that year.
