The Dhaka Metropolitan Police has given an initial clearance to the BNP for observing a token hunger strike for Monday demanding Chairperson Khaleda Zia’s release.
“The DMP has given a ‘verbal permission’ to observe the strike on Mahanagar Natya Mancha from 9am to 4pm,” BNP Senior Joint Sectary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi told the media on Sunday (Jul 8).
Senior BNP leaders, indulging its Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam are expected to attend the progamme, to be held between 9am and 4pm on Monday.
