The government, AL and local parliament members would stand by the victims of Friday’s fire that broke out at Chalantika slum in Mirpur until they are fully rehabilitated, said AL General Secretary Obaidul Quader.
He made the remark whike distributing relief material among the affected slum dwellers at Chalantika Mor in the capital on Monday (Aug 19).
He told the victims that Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina would continue to support them as long as they would need it.
Local parliament member Ilias Molla would also be by their side during the time, Quader said.
Stating the victims had no need for speeches, he said that unlike BNP General Secretary Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir and his party, AL was helping to rehabilitate the victims.
Quader said that BNP’s persistence on crying to foreigners and diplomats only went on to prove how bankrupt BNP had become as a political power in the country.
