The Islami Andolan organized the procession towards the Indian High Commission to protest persecution of Muslims in India, cow-vigilante groups and rape plus violation of Muslim women.
Workers, leaders began gathering near the north gate of Baitul Mokarram from 9am and mufti Syed Mohammad Rezaul Karim addressed the workers saying: “Muslims are being killed in India and other countries and there are conspiracies against Muslims across the world. This has to be thwarted.”
The procession led by pir of Charmonai, Syed Mohamamd Rezaul Karim, started from north gate of Baitul Mokarram on Tuesday (Jul 30) and was blocked by police in Paltan.Though India declares herself to be secular, she is preventing Muslims from observing their religion, their homes are being burnt and women are being violated, said Syed Mohammad Rezaul Karim, adding, “OIC or the UN are not taking any position against India.”
Stressing the need for a Muslim United Nations, he commented: “Priya Saha has committed sedition by making a false complaint that 37 million Hindus are facing persecution in Bangladesh.”
A team led by party presidium member, Syed Mosaddek Billah, went to the Indian High Commission to give a memorandum but came back since they could not find any high commission official.
