Senior BNP leader, Ruhul Kabir Rizvi, has claimed that staying Khaleda Zia’s High Court bail order by Supreme Court in the Cumilla arson case is unprecedented.
Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP)’ s Joint Secretary General, Ruhul Kabir Rizvi, was addressing a media briefing at the party’s Naya Paltan office on Tuesday (July 3).
Calling the Supreme Court the bastion of justice, where someone can expect fair treatment, he said: “Awami League is now influencing the SC verdict as they have already captured the lower courts.”
Our party chief has become a prey of Sheikh Hasina as she is a victim of relentless political vengeance with the Supreme Court acting according to the instructions of the Awami League government, he fumed.
Rizvi slated the observation by Attorney General, Mahbubey Alam, who is believed to have said: “justice will be anguished if Khaleda Zia gets bail,” and reminded that fifteen cases lodged against Sheikh Hasina by the 1/11 government were withdrawn by force.”
The chief judicial official of the country is trying to turn the highest court into a spokesperson for the government, he deplored.
Saying that the recent attack on quota reformers was carried out by Chhatra League, he lashed out: “the nation condemns the barbaric attack on students.”
