It will also observe a token hunger-strike the next Monday (Jul 9) in Dhaka.
Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir announced the demonstrations at a media briefing Monday evening.
“The government is plotting against bail for Khaleda Zia. It’s on to delay the process. The High Court has granted her bail in the main case (Zia Orphanage Trust graft), but she is yet to be released,” said Mirza Fakhrul.
The announcement comes hours after the Supreme Court upheld the stay on the High Court decision granting BNP chief Khaleda Zia bail in the Cumilla murder case over the firebombing of a bus in 2015.
Speaking on the legal battle, BNP leader Moudud Ahmad said that the total matter now depends on the “executive branch” not the judiciary.
The BNP will hold rallies across the country on Thursday (Jul 5), including one in front of the headquarters at Dhaka’s Naya Paltan at 11am.
The next Monday (Jul 9), the token hunger-strike will be observed upon the authorities clearances.
