The BNP has described the charges of sabotaging the Gazipur polls against its Central Executive Committee leader Mizanur Rahman Mizan as ‘a drama by the administration.’
A retired Bangladesh Army major, Mizan was arrested from his Gulshan home early Tuesday audio clips of a conversation between Mizan and a local Juba Dal leader on possible sabotage in Gazipur city polls surfaced online.
In a statement on Tuesday, Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir claimed the audio clips to be ‘doctored’.
He claimed the government attempted to abduct Mizan. “But they failed as the issue went viral on social media.
“The government has staged a new drama and made the audio clip to cover up its wrongdoings”, the statement reads.
