Jatiya Party Chairman HM Ershad has been put on life support, confirmed Health Minister Zahid Malek.
“Ershad’s condition is critical condition. He has been put on life support,” he told the media on Monday (Jul 1) after visiting the former military dictator at the Combined Military Hospital.
He added that at the moment his condition is not stable enough to be taken abroad.
The 89-year-old leader of opposition was admitted to the CMH Intensive Care Unit on Jun 26. His health was improving on Saturday (Jun 29) but it worsened on Sunday (Jun 30).
The former special envoy to the prime minister had previously gone to Singapore a few times for health reasons.
