The incident was reported from the party’s Naya Paltan headquarters on Tuesday (Jun 25).
“Those who are inside are vandalising the chairs, tables and CCTV cameras,” said Iqtiar Kabir, the vice president of the recently dissolved committee.
He added that the ransackers were throwing tea cups and saucers at them and have already injured one person.

“I believe that a third party, instigated by the state is taking advantage of the protests and vandalising the headquarters,” he told Bangla Tribune.
“Why would they take part in vandalising when they themselves are affiliated with BNP politics?” said Jewel.

Earlier in the afternoon, Iqtiar Kabir has said that a council won’t be allowed as long as the age-limit isn’t lifted.
“The syndicate will be responsible for any unwanted situation if the demands aren’t met. We demand a new schedule and cancellation of the old one,” he added.
Meanwhile, BNP’s Publicity Secretary Shahid Uddin Chowdhury Annie called on the protesters to accept the announced schedule and co-operate.

Before the unrest began, two crude bombs also went off in front of Hotel Midtown, damaging a private car.
The central committee of Chhatra Dal was dissolved on Jun 3 through a media statement which has led to protest from a faction of the party.
