In a statement sent to the media on Tuesday (May 7), Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir said in her address to Awami League supporters in the British capital, expressed strong resentment over Khaleda Zia’s release from jail, which he says will erode people’s confidence in the judiciary.
“I express grave concern over what she said about our leader’s release. If Khaleda Zia’s release depends on the prime minister, then it’s not only a matter of concern but also indicates a bad future of the country and its people,” he said.
The remarks have made it clear there was no democracy in the country rather there was a one-party rule, said Fakhrul.
“The prime minister’s comments will hurt the credibility of judiciary and the people will lose faith in what’s their last resort, and it’ll lead to anarchy in society,” he added.
