Acting chairman of Jatiya Party, GM Quader, said: “I have not come here to show my authority but to serve the people and the party will run on the opinion of everyone.”
“I came to the party in the 90s when it was in a precarious condition not to get anything but to serve it,” he said at the party chairman’s Banani offices on Monday (May 6).
“At that time, my brother, Ershad, was in jail and I secured his release and organized the party,” he added.
In the grand alliance of 2009, I had the chance to take charge of two ministries, he said and observed: “I am now an MP and the acting chairman; in this role, I shall run the organization with the support of others.”
Responding to a question if there is a revolt in the party, he observed: “No, there isn’t a revolt and if someone breaks the party rules, then measures as per party guideline will be taken against that person.”
