Senior Awami League leader and lawmaker Tofail Ahmed has been hospitalised with fever and pain in the upper part of abdomen.
The former commerce minister was admitted to the city’s Square Hospital on May 2, an official of the hospital, Sipon told Bangla Tribune on Saturday (May 5).
Ahmed was under doctors’ observation at the hospital’s coronary care unit (CCU) before being shifted to a cabin on May 3.
According to the hospital official, Tofail was undergoing treatment under the hospital’s chief consultant of cardiology, Dr Md Tawhiduzzaman’s subversion.
Ahmed “condition is improving,” said Dr Tawhiduzzaman.
The septuagenarian politician is a member of the ruling party’s advisory board.
